“A journey of just, inclusive, and sustainable development with tribal, Dalit, and marginalized communities for 30 years’
Pradeepan is a voluntary, non-profit, and non-governmental organization founded in 1995 by local social activists in Betul district of Madhya Pradesh. The organization is registered under the Madhya Pradesh Societies Registration Act, 1973, and is equipped with all necessary statutory compliances—12A, 80G, FCRA, CSR-1, GST, and NITI Aayog NGOs DARAPAN—enabling it to work effectively with national and international donors and government agencies.
Pradeepan is a Dalit women-led and managed organization that works on the values of gender justice, social equality, and human rights. The organization's headquarters are located in Betul district, and it is active in more than 475 villages across Betul, Chhindwara, Dindori, and Mandla districts of Madhya Pradesh, with a long-term and intensive engagement in Betul district.
The 'Pradeepan' organization had the privilege of operating the Childline Project (Vatsalya Mission) Child Helpline No. 1098 in Betul district from 2012 to August 31, 2023. During this period, the organization was permitted to use the Government of India's logo on its letterhead. Furthermore, the organization also operated the CEE SGP UNDP project "Sustainable Development and Tribal Livelihoods" for five years, and in this project as well, the organization had the confidence to print the Government of India's logo alongside its own logo on project brochures. Working with the Government of India's logo is an opportunity granted to only a few organizations. The use of the government's logo automatically leads to a more flexible and cooperative attitude and approach from the local administration towards the organization.
In Betul district, only the Pradeepan organization has had the opportunity to be thus honored.
